At Black Forest Danes, we don’t just breed puppies—we raise future family members. Each of our Great Dane puppies is born and nurtured in our home, surrounded by love, structure, and early socialization.
Our puppies remain with their mother the entire time and are also gently introduced to their father and our other adult Danes, creating a strong, balanced start. From birth to adoption day, every moment is intentional to ensure your puppy grows into a loyal, confident, and well-adjusted companion.

Our Process
We raise our puppies with early neurological stimulation, socialization, and structure to promote healthy development and confidence. Each pup is matched to a family based on their temperament and your lifestyle—not just color or looks. Learn more about the importance of early socialization from the American Kennel Club.

Once approved, we’ll help you choose the right puppy for your family—or place you on our waitlist.

Our puppies are raised in a loving home environment with early socialization, premium nutrition, and regular veterinary care. We feed our dogs a high-quality diet formulated for large breeds—Exclusive® Chicken & Brown Rice Large Breed Adult Dog Food—to support proper growth and development. We focus on temperament, health, and conformation to breed standards.
Yes! All of our Great Dane puppies come with limited AKC registration and are eligible for other breed-specific organizations upon request. We would be happy to discuss full AKC registration with you.
To reserve a puppy, simply fill out our puppy application form and we will contact you about available pups and the process for adoption or being added to the waitlist. We do require a deposit at the time you pick a pup.
Our puppies go to their forever homes at 8 weeks of age, fully weaned and with their first vaccinations and vet exam completed.
Yes, every puppy comes with a health guarantee that covers testable, breed-specific genetic conditions commonly found in Great Danes for up to one year. Each puppy is also examined by a licensed veterinarian before going to their forever home.
Absolutely! We encourage families to meet the puppy’s dam and sire (mother and father) whenever possible. It’s a great way to observe temperament and learn more about your puppy’s lineage.
Each puppy goes home with a welcome kit that includes vaccination records, a small bag of current food, a blanket with familiar scent, and care instructions. We also provide lifetime breeder support.
While we don’t offer formal training, all puppies begin basic potty training before going home. They also learn to go up and down stairs, use a doggy door, and are introduced to a variety of toys. We provide helpful tips to support you during the first weeks of adjustment.
